I just got a letter from Beetle Bailey.

(Here’s part of the envelope.)

For those who might wonder if Beetle’s creator, Mort Walker,

really did spend time at Camp Crowder.

And whether he indeed did name Crowder in the comic strip “Camp Swampy,”

I present the following part of Walker’s letter to potential

doners to support the building of

the National Museum of the U. S. Army.
